You arrived a lot quicker than I anticipated and it’s already three days into it.
I spent most of the new years weekend gaming together with the boyfriend, boyfriend’s brother and our room mate which was real nice and relaxing. Though a bit tiring at the same time as I was still trying to shake off a nasty cold from earlier in the week.
But I also got to do a bit of thinking about things, stuff, life and where I currently am in it. For the first time that I can recall I solemnly made a resolution, basically I’m going to try to aim towards eating more and healthier as well as getting better at keeping up my training. I haven’t started out as well as I would’ve wanted to, but it’s not too bad yet as I’ve eaten slightly less unhealthy stuff the last couple of days. It rather helps that I’m not working my ass off the same way I did throughout december so my sugar cravings are staying somewhat low. So if I can keep up with that it’ll be a good start I think, just need to put my mind to actually keeping up my training properly. Though my cold is still lingering a bit so I don’t want to start out too hard just yet.
I’m also starting to get a bit of a better grasp of what I actually want to do with my life. Not necessarily a clear goal, but I’m narrowing down the skills I want to more focused and tangible milestones along the way. I’m still trying to sort through it all and try to schedule it into my life in such a way that I can actually start working on it all. But I think the most fundamental thing I’ve decided on is that this year I’m going to wear my heart on my sleeve for all to see.
And connected to that I’m going to try to make this place more of a journal and actually update more than once upon a blue moon. I’m probably going to keep doing video logs on my youtube channel every now and then but I might just supplement them with more in depth things here, plus updates that isn’t really intended for my youtube specific audience (just about only people interested in my gaming life as far as I know).
I’ve missed the whole journal concept a bit because I’m a scatterbrain and it has actually helped my perspective of myself a lot going back to my old Livejournal that I had for years. There’s tons of teenage angst there, but re-reading a lot of those old entries has given me a firmer grasp of who I was when I were younger, made me ponder who I am now and generally set some things into a more correct timeline than what’s been in my head.
So, going to try to get back into old habits and write more again! So this place should get livelier, I get to vent stuff, it’ll be an incentive to actually keep up with my plans, to draw more and help me keep up my schedule.

For now though I’m going get some sleep and clear my head a little so I can come back with some fresh (and hopefully more interesting) things to write about tomorrow!
As I have the day off tomorrow I have quite a few things I’m going to try to get done inbetween trying to get our new apartment into somewhat shape, taking the bus to fetch some mail, cooking, cleaning and all that. Hopefully it’ll be more Let’s Play episodes recorded, some sketching and a write up on my experiences with Star Wars The Old Republic. All in all, I got tons of things to do! =D

job

So, no, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth. I simply managed to get myself a job after long last!

So the past three weeks have been a flurry of activity getting settled into my new job and battling a cold (of course I go get a big cold my first week at work). I’ve more or less settled in by now, just waiting for the guy whom I’m replacing to “quit for real” so I can do my job without risking him messing something up for me and basically cruising along. As I’m now managing the book section of the local geek shop I do have a LOT of reading to do though. I used to be in the loop about what was good fantasy and scifi. Back when I was 16-17 years old. So yeah, lots of reading to do and lots of going over sale statistics to find out what author’s and series are the most popular the last year or two. But, while it’s a lot of work outside of work so to speak, it’s one of the best places to work that I could dream of. Awesome coworkers, awesome merchandise to work with and better working hours than I’ve had for years. And after nearly two years of unemployment it feels awesome to be able to go to work, even though it’s really tiring from time to time.

Anyhow, just wanted to let you know I’m not gone, just rather busy. I am working on getting my Let’s Playing on a schedule so I can upload more frequently, I have some plans for both blog posts and video logs AND I’m working on my first ever cosplay project. So stay tuned, there’s more to come!

I’m still trying to iron out the bumps in this layout, but most things should be working properly by now. The last bit that I’m aware of that’s “broken” is images in posts not linking properly to the page for the specified image but I may have to rely on secondary solutions to this for now.
If you do stumble over something that doesn’t seem to be working properly or have any suggestions on how I can make the site better please do send me an email or comment on this post! I love getting feedback and feedback is the only way I can make this place a more pleasant stay for you guys. =)

In other news, I’m currently running two Let’s Play series simultaneously, F.E.A.R. 3 and Dragon Age 2, in case you’ve missed my YouTube channel. They are on a small hiatus while I scrape together enough money to buy a new headset though as the microphone on my previous one is giving in and giving me some horrible feedback. With any luck though this should be resolved within a few days. In addition to my Let’s Play adventures I’m currently getting back into watercolor painting and I do have my “Gaming Sentimentality” series of ACEO cards underway. Lately I’ve been struck with a lot of inspiration so hopefully it will all bear some fruit that’s worth showing the rest of the world!

And lastly, would you guys be interested in more of my ramblings or would you rather I only posted art? Or both? Or something completely different?
I’m still debating what to use this place for and so far I would be tempted to post sketches (possibly as a daily sketch blog), art and gaming rants, documenting my crafting/cosplaying efforts and other random things along those lines. And so far I’m not entirely sure who my visitors are and what you lot come here for specifically so any comments on this would be lovely. =)

I’ve been non-existant around here for a while, sorry about that. Life’s just been awfully messy and generally full of stuff, plus I’ve sort of forgotten to update around here.

Now I’ve come back to a template that I seem to have somehow broken (may be my Tumblr imported posts messing things up), apologies for that as well. I am working on a site template of my own, I simply haven’t had the time to properly do the graphics and more importantly, code it, it’s still stuck as a scribble in my sketchpad.

So, I’ve been busy with a variety of things including practicing sword fighting in preparation for an outdoor theatrical piece called Korsvikaspelet that’ll take place between 23 to 26 June (next week) where I’ll be one of the warriors. I’ve also (finally) finished playing through Dead Space and all of the remaining videos of that should be up on youtube by tomorrow morning at the latest. They should all have been online by now, but I noticed a render error a bit late and had to re-render one of the middle videos in the set so working on that as I type. The first part of the set is up however so do feel free to take a peek.
I will be busy for another week and a half with my work with Korsvikaspelet as well so I can’t fix my broken layout until I get back from that I’m afraid. I’ll swap over to a different layout until then to allow for proper navigation as a temporary solution until I get my own layout going though. And pray that the default one isn’t broken too, that would be just my luck!

Anyhow, a more normal schedule should hopefully be resumed after 28 June and I do have plans that should allow me to actually have useful/more interesting updates for you all by then. So, if you still check in every now and then, thank you SO much for your patience and I’ll try to be more rewarding in the future!

Over a month since my last proper post, oooh boy I’m bad at keeping this thing up to date. This time I suppose I do have an excuse though, having moved to a new country and all. Basically I spent roughly two and a half weeks in limbo, first week spent sleeping on the floor of a friend’s then getting to borrow a spare room at another friend’s place for the remaining week before our flight left.
Now though I’ve officially said good bye to Ireland (for now at least) and said hello to Norway. My first two weeks here has been rather eventful with lots of friendship and camraderie which was quite the change from the last year and a half where I’ve more or less only seen other people at training. So, a promising start!

My art’s been suffering a bit, not very surprising though. Even so I’ve been sketching a bit on a small (well, the size is small but the ambition is pretty big) personal project of mine and my fingers are itching for more. So it would seem my inspiration have made it through the ordeal of moving decently intact.
Even so, art is taking the backburner for a little while longer while I get back on track with my Let’s Play projects as I feel a bit bad for my subscribers. They haven’t heard anything from me for over a month either so I should get back to playing. Plus, I currently have a list of some 5 or 6 games waiting to be treated with the Let’s Play experience. And I REALLY want to get to Dragon Age 2 soon, if nothing else to be able to play it before I’ve been too showered in spoilers!
So planning to try to get some LPing done over the weekend (need to sort my hard drive first, having only 100GB free is a bit too little), hopefully finish off Dead Space and get started on Dragon Age 2.
THEN I can get back into arting properly! I foresee a flood of Dragon Age related fan art from my part, now that I for once have inspiration enough to produce something. >=]

Oh, and lastly I’ve set up a feed from my Tumblr as I do find some interesting things there that I reblog. Thus now you won’t have to check both places (I doubt anyone did, but still) as the things I find there will be automagically posted here as well!
I’m childishly happy about fiddling with this place, now I just need to kick myself into actually filling it with useful things. *cough*
