I’m taking a small break from work (egads, I have a job! *bounce*) to share a little something that I just found in my twitterstream today. Someone named Sasha Dichter wrote a small blog post about rebooting Valentine’s Day as Generosity Day and I’d say that it’s quite an awesome idea. Instead of focusing on the whole couple-love theme and stressing about with expensive candies and dinners, why not focus on love in general? There’s always someone to appreciate and love even if you don’t happen to smooch them every day! And there are many more ways to show love and gratitude as well.
I know that I’m a little bit late in discovering this as here in Ireland (and about a third or so of the rest of the world) it’s actually the 15th already, but any day is a good day for being generous and grateful I’d say. And as such, I would like to express my gratitude towards a big part of the artistic community, all the professionals and hobbyists who without a thought share their knowledge and insights into the artistic world and who takes the time to reply to questions and gentle prodding from other artists, all the creative minds that humbly share their work with the rest of us simply because they can. I bow before you, know that you are all awesome people.
Of course I have a lot of other people close to me whom I’m very grateful to, but I’ll show them my appreciation in a more personal way. =)
So, go out there and remember to show your loved ones how much you appreciate them and greet the rest of the world with a kind heart because after all, we’re all someone’s loved one.
